How to Make your Workplace More Green

Business

Being green is now something that more and more people are waking up to and taking seriously. The plight of the planet can be seen in the world’s oceans as well as in the frightening changes to our weather caused by climate change which has resulted in many devastating natural disasters.

As well as being green at home, it is equally important to think about ways that we can improve on this in the workplace too. Start with small things and build up to more and more and caring for the environment will soon become a habit.

Here are a few ways that you can do this at work…

Turn off Electrics when not in use – Make sure that all electrical equipment is switched off at night, don’t leave things like computers on standby. This will save money as well as being better for the environment. If people are away from their desks for long periods of time, such as in a meeting, remind them to switch off their computers then too.

Think about what you can recycle – There are lots of things that can be recycled that many people don’t realise, as well as the fact that many offices and workplaces could improve their green credentials by recycling more. Find a commercial recycling service such as https://www.printwaste.co.uk/business-recycling-solutions/  who will be able to help you with your workplace recycling.

Look at the Layout – Office layout can also have an impact on your energy you use – make sure that radiators are not being blocked by furniture as this prevents the heat from getting into the room meaning that heating has to be on longer to make an impact.
