It won’t be long before summer arrives and brings with it the nice warm sun. This gives us all more opportunities to get out and about and enjoy our local areas. But it also brings with it the consideration of finding ways to keep ourselves and our employees cool.

When the heat rises too high, it can have a number of effects on individuals. It is one of the reasons why it is worth considering having a Brise Soleil, like those from installed on the outside of the building. These pieces of equipment help to change the angle of the sun to prevent it from streaming straight in through your office windows.

Here are some ways that the heat can affect your employees:

Heatstroke – in severe cases, when exposed to high temperatures for long periods of time, individuals can experience heatstroke. This can lead to a variety of symptoms and can be serious in some cases. It is important that the individual affected seeks a cooler environment as soon as possible.

Productivity – when the temperature rises, it can lead to your staff becoming less productive. There are ways you can counteract this, such as allowing your staff to work at cooler times of the day and ensuring that they take regular breaks. You could also provide them with lots of cool drinks and even ice-creams to help them get through the high temperatures.
